In Paul's opinion, yoga could be practiced anywhere in the world, including in the West. He himself perceived yoga as a comprehensive approach to life, including the acceptance of all the challenges that awaited a person, but it was necessary to do so with a pure heart and soul, hunger for knowledge, wisdom and humility.
In the effort to popularise yoga, Paul was helped by his two publications. He published the first book, Yoga for the Western World in 1958, the second, The Yoga of Health, Youth and Joy two years later. These were very accessible and illustrative publications that also served as practical manuals.
