Paul was particularly struck by the story of his Russian friend Sonia Orlova, who was arrested by the secret police during a raid, taken to prison and then regularly subjected to inhumane torture. Thanks to a ruse, she was saved from prison. Paul wanted to set the whole story in the form of a theater or film scenario, at the very end of which Sonia would be reunited with her fiancé. In this form, however, the story remained only on paper, hidden in the author's drawer, and thus hidden from a potential audience. In the end, Paul decided to tell the story unedited. In The Story of ST 25, he stated that Sonja was indeed rescued from prison, but died of torture and malnutrition not long after.
